Step 1: Add a new application on Facebook for developers
- To get your access token from Instagram, you need to create an app on Facebook Developers . First, you will log in to your Facebook profile and go to your Facebook Developers Account. Once you are logged in, you can add a new app as shown below.
- In the page “Create apps”, you will choose Other => Next
- Next, you will choose the type Consumer => Next.
- After choosing the application type, you will fill in your app’s Display Name, App Contact Email, and Business Account. Then, click on the button “Create App”
Step 2: Configure display for Instagram:
- Simply click on the ‘Set Up’ button under ‘Instagram Basic Display’.
- Next click on ‘Set Up’ and scroll down to the very bottom of the page where you will see a Create New App button.
- Click the button to create a new Instagram App ID and enter the name of the app you created in Step 1.
Step 3: Get Access Token:
- Now you need to add an Instagram Test user to get your access token. Go back to the ‘Basic Display’ section and scroll down the page to find the ‘Add or Remove Instagram Testers’ button.
- You will click that button and add the Instagram User ID of the person you want to set as a tester. If you want an access key to your own account, simply add your own Instagram username.
- Once it’s done, log in to your Instagram account (or the account of the Instagram tester you have added). Navigate to Settings→ Apps and Websites and click on the Tester Invites tab to send an invitation (you can check the image below for example).
- You will accept the invitation. Then, go back to your Facebook Developers dashboard, find the app you have just created, and navigate to Basic Display. In that page, you will scroll down to the User Token Generator section and click on the Generate Token button
- A Token Generated pop-up will appear and you will find the token for the EA Instagram Feed widget. Copy that token for later use.
- To create an Instagram Feed, you need to edit the homepage with Elementor.
- You can enter the Access token you just created above
Instagram account settings:
- In the input field under the ‘Instagram Account Settings’ option, paste the access token you have generated in the previous steps. Your Instagram feed will be automatically displayed within a matter of seconds=>After customizing, select update to save
