MaxSale “the App” provides upsells & boost conversion tools “the Service” to merchants who use Shopify to power their stores. This Privacy Policy describes how personal information is collected, used, and shared when you install or use the App in connection with your Shopify-supported store.
Personal Data We Collect About You
When you install the App, we are automatically be able to access certain types of information from your Shopify account:
Read_Products: This includes products and collections. We need this permission to sync the product, collection data between your Shopify store and our app for filtering and searching features.
Read_Themes, Write_Themes: This permission allows us to read store’s themes information for the auto theme setup process.
Additionally, we collect the following type(s) of personal information from you and/or your customers once you have installed the App:
- Information about you and others who may access the App on behalf of your store, limited to your email address (encrypted database);
- Information about individuals who visit your store, such as their IP address (*);
- web browser details;
- time zone, date/time stamps on the particular device.
We collect personal information directly from the relevant individual, through your Shopify account, or using the following technologies:
- “Cookies” are data files that are placed on your device or computer and often include an anonymous unique identifier. For more information about cookies, and how to disable cookies, visit http://www.allaboutcookies.org;
- “Log files” track actions occurring on the Site, and collect data including your IP address (*);
- web browser details, and time zone, date/time stamps on the particular device.
(*) The IP is converted to the geolocation data of state and country and the IP is removed after that process. No IP address is stored in our app databases.
How Do We Use Your Personal Information?
Merchant’s Personal information will be used in the interest of communicating as well as providing good, in-time services to them. Additionally, we will use this personal information to Operate, Optimize & Improve the App; provide you with information along with advertise relating products & services, hence, enhance your overall experiment.
Sharing Your Personal Information
We do not share, disclose, sell, rent, or otherwise provide personal information to other third parties or companies (despite specific Shopify merchants you are interacting with, or third-party apps/service providers being used by the merchants you are interacting with) for the marketing of their own products or services.
We will only share merchant Personal Information to comply with applicable laws and regulations of Shopify, to respond to a subpoena, search warrant or other lawful requests for information we receive, for protecting both parties rights.
Behavioral Advertising
As described above, we use the Information to provide you with targeted advertisements or marketing communications we believe that you might be interest of.

If you are a European resident, you have the right to access your personal information we hold about you and to ask that your personal information is corrected, updated, or deleted. If you would like to exercise this right, please contact us through the contact information below.
Additionally, if you are a European resident we note that we are processing your information in order to fulfill contracts we might have with you (for example if you make an order through the Site), or otherwise to pursue our legitimate business interests listed above. Additionally, please note that your information will be transferred outside of Europe, including to Canada and the United States.
We receive the store data information from Shopify platform through Shopify API and Shopify Hooks.
Data Retention
Our retention practices are: for the store owner, data is stored in our app databases and is stored as long as the store owner continues using the app; when the store owner uninstalls the app, the data is deleted.
For order hook, all personal data is deleted as soon as the app receives the order hooks; no personal data is retained for this kind of information.
For application logs, data is collected for application analyzing, monitoring and security purposes, and is kept in 3 months (*).

Changes
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time in regards to other operational, legal or regulatory reasons. If changes are significant, we’ll provide a more prominent notice (including, for certain services, email notification of Privacy Policy changes).
